Get W-9s in before 1099 season
Total each client’s contractor payments, check for forms on file, and draft requests.
Example request
Go through this year’s payments for our 12 small-business clients and list every contractor with their total paid. Mark the ones above the reporting threshold in our year-end checklist, check each client’s folder for a current W-9, and draft request emails the client can send to anyone missing one. Do not prepare or file any forms.
How the agent works through it
- Total the payments to each contractor from the records you connect.
- Compare the totals with your checklist threshold and the W-9s on file.
- Draft requests for missing forms and a status sheet by client.
What comes back
A contractor list for each client showing who still needs a W-9, with requests drafted.
What needs your approval
You confirm the list and the threshold. Nothing is filed without approval, and each client decides whether to send the requests.
Sharing with others
Share each client’s missing-form list with that client alone.
