# Melete for nonprofits

Keep grant reports and donor follow-up moving with a small team.

Melete drafts grant reports from program data, personalizes donor thank-you letters, researches funders, and fills volunteer shifts. Staff approve every submission and message.

## What Melete takes off your plate

- Pulling program numbers into a funder’s report template.
- Personal thank-you letters at year-end volume.
- Researching foundations and tracking their deadlines.
- Filling volunteer shifts and sending the reminders.
- Assembling the board packet from the month’s updates.

## Example workflows

- [Draft the annual grant report from program data](https://melete.si/use-cases/grant-report-program-data/index.md): Compare what you delivered with what you promised and draft each report section.
- [Thank every year-end donor personally](https://melete.si/use-cases/year-end-donor-thanks/index.md): A letter for each gift that says what it funds, with major gifts flagged for a call.
- [Find grants that fit your programs](https://melete.si/use-cases/foundation-grant-prospects/index.md): Research eligible foundations, check what they fund, and rank them by fit and effort.
- [Fill every volunteer shift for the food drive](https://melete.si/use-cases/volunteer-shift-coverage/index.md): Invite past volunteers to shifts that fit their availability and keep the roster current.

## What stays with you

- Grant submissions and donor messages wait for staff approval.
- Donor and participant records stay in the project scopes you set.
- Figures in a report link back to the sheet or export they came from.
- If Melete cannot confirm a message went out, it marks it as unconfirmed instead of sending it twice.

## Tools

Salesforce, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail, Web browser. Connect the sources a task needs, and choose what Melete can access for each one.

## Questions

### Can a small team with no IT staff use it?

Yes. Start with one person and one recurring task, such as a grant report or donor letters, using the email, spreadsheets, and documents you already have.

### Will it send messages to donors on its own?

Letters and emails are drafted for staff approval before they are sent, and you choose which tasks need review for every message.

### How do we know the numbers in a report are right?

Each figure points back to the attendance sheet, export, or document it came from. Staff approve the numbers before submission, and corrections carry into later drafts.
