# Melete for legal teams

Get through the document work behind every matter.

For small firms, in-house teams, and paralegals. Melete extracts deadlines, indexes productions, compares redlines, and follows up on client documents, with every summary linked to its source. Attorneys make the calls and approve anything that leaves the firm.

## What Melete takes off your plate

- Pulling dates and notice periods out of long agreements.
- Indexing a document production with page references.
- Comparing a counterparty’s redline with your last version and your playbook.
- Chasing new clients for intake documents.
- Turning call notes into matter updates for the file.

## Example workflows

- [Turn engagement letters into a deadline calendar](https://melete.si/use-cases/agreement-deadline-calendar/index.md): Every date and notice period from a stack of agreements, with the clause quoted.
- [Index a document production for review](https://melete.si/use-cases/production-document-index/index.md): A sortable index of a large production, with key terms and likely duplicates flagged.
- [Check a redline against your playbook](https://melete.si/use-cases/redline-playbook-review/index.md): Every change in the counterparty’s markup, compared with your standard and fallback terms.
- [Chase missing documents from new clients](https://melete.si/use-cases/client-intake-documents/index.md): Check intake folders against your checklist and follow up until each file is complete.

## What stays with you

- Melete does not give legal advice. An attorney reviews anything that leaves the firm.
- Client material stays in a private scope or the matter’s project. It does not become firm-wide memory unless someone chooses to share it.
- Extracted dates and summaries link to the page or clause they came from.
- Nothing is sent to clients, courts, or opposing counsel without approval.

## Tools

## Questions

### Does Melete give legal advice?

No. It organizes documents, extracts dates and terms with a citation to the source, and drafts material for an attorney to review. Legal judgment, and anything sent outside the firm, stays with your attorneys.

### How is client material kept separate?

Work on a matter can stay in your private workspace or in a project limited to the people on that matter. It is not added to shared firm memory unless someone chooses to share it. Follow your firm’s policies on which systems may hold client files.

### Do we need to change where our documents live?

No. Melete works with the files and email you already use, such as Dropbox, Google Drive, and Microsoft Outlook, and only with the sources you connect for a task.
